Okay, let's see.

Roxy Manning:

So I will just read out a sentence, and you fill in the blank. Small move or big myth. And you can give a sentence why. Okay. Number one. Some seasons are about expansion. Others are about preservation.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, small moves. Yes, absolutely. I. I always say there is a different season. And maybe, you know, when people ask about balance, I get that question all the time.

How do you find balance? And I'm like, I. You know, there, for me, there is no real balance. Some seasons, or even days or minutes or hours are about. I'm.

I've got my career hat on. And then other moments, I'm like, my mom had is really firmly, you know, stuck on, and I think it just ebbs and flows.

So there are different seasons, certainly, and I think we have to embrace that and not allow ourselves to feel like we've lost something or we're missing something if we're in a different season.

Roxy Manning:

That's such a good point. Things change. Everything changes.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

At some point, things change. That's it.

Roxy Manning:

Discipline is a feminine superpower.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, that's a good one. I mean, I feel like I'm a disciplinarian in my household, in my life, and I feel like we do it well. We do it well.

I don't think it's just for women, but I think. Well, I think we hold a lot of superpowers as women. So, I mean, I think it's a small move. I don't think that's a myth.

I think we have that power within us. Yes. And most of the. I mean, I've known men who are great. Great at that as well, but definitely.

Roxy Manning:

Energy is a bigger advantage than talent.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, a thousand percent. Oh, my God. Yes. Moves. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I mean, I think I mentioned the very beginning of this.

I was naturally good at dance, but I worked my ass off at it. Like, it wasn't like I just had the talent. I just. I. Like, I Had a natural talent. But I then worked really hard.

I was the first one to show up at the dance class. I was the last one to leave. I was practicing on my own. So, yes, I think energy is everything.

Roxy Manning:

Yes. So key, momentum matters more than motivation.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, yes. I, I. Yes. Small moves. Yeah. Motivation doesn't show up for you. You don't wake up in the morning, you're like, I can't wait to do abcd.

You got to keep the momentum going. That's what this whole book is about. It's about building momentum. Small. One small move at a time.

Roxy Manning:

Absolutely. Kids don't need a perfect mom. They need a regulated one.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, there you go. We gotta let go of that whole idea of perfection. Yes. And let go of the mom guilt. We need to stop that. Shouldn't. I mean, we need to stop.

I don't have a lot of mom guilt, and I don't. I mean, should I feel guilty about that? I don't know. But I don't. I don't. Because I zoom out. And I think we need to zoom out.

As women, we have to zoom out more. And we talked about this in the beginning. The intention, like, are we. We're doing. We're trying our best.

We're doing a good job, and that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. There always is, I'm sure. But, like, we're way too hard on ourselves, and we also are way too critical of the effort that we make.

So I think zoom out and, like, are you going to do a pretty good job this year? This month? Today, you did your best. You know, it might have been the perfect day, but the week overall, you did pretty good.

Roxy Manning:

And stop being perfectionist. Like, we don't need to be perfect. You know, it's like, oh, my gosh.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

We know that and we say that.

And I've had this conversation so many times over the last few months, and yet when we get off this call and whoever's listening, they're going to go back to their real life, and they're going to still feel like they have to show up and be perfect in some way. So we really need to understand why. Like, why do we feel we have to be so good at. Why do we have to be the perfect wife?

Why do we have to wake up earlier, hustle harder? Why do we have to be the perfect mom? Why do we have to look perfect? Why do we have to do all the things?

And I think you have to really understand what your values are, what really matters to you. As an individual and where you source that value from. And that is what really matters, right? The type of human you want to be.

Roxy Manning:

Yes, correct. You don't need a new life to evolve, just a new rhythm.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, bam.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

I love it. Like that is. Yes, yes, yes.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

I mean, absolutely. It is all about the rhythm. And you don't need a new life.

Roxy Manning:

No, you don't need a new life. Middle life isn't a comeback. It's an arrival.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, you're so good. You need to put these on cards, right? Do you have these on cards?

Roxy Manning:

I know, I think I'm going to because, I mean, I feel like we.

Is this the first time you're using these? Yes, girl. I mean, you need to. You need to put these at least on social. You need to do a little canva moment after this. And you need to post these.

Tag me. I will share. Yes, girl. I'm like this. What is this the kids do now these days? What does my daughter do? Lock it. Clock it. Clock it. And.

We're aging ourselves.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Oh, my God. I love it.

But I don't care. It's great. These are all great. Yes.

Roxy Manning:

Oh, my gosh. Perfect. So what advice would you give your 25 year old self?

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

My 25 year old self. It's going to be. It's going to be okay. One move at a time. That's exactly what I would tell her. Yeah. Yeah. Because she doesn't know.

She doesn't know what she's in for. She just got married. She's in like newlywed land.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

Wow.

Andrea Leigh Rogers:

So, yeah, I would tell her. You just stay true to who you are and you keep making. You just keep doing the next right thing. I have a very strong moral compass.

My mother will tell me she, like trained me to know guilt as a child, but I did. I just. It's like the midwestern roots in me. But I just, I. I like, have a really strong moral compass.

And I've let that moral compass be my guiding light throughout my whole life and everything I do.

And so I think if you just keep following that and you listen to your heart and you really listen to what feels right for you and you make decisions based on that.

You really, even if you mess up or something doesn't go the way it's planned, at least you know your intention was pure and aligned with who you are and your.

Roxy Manning:
